Local residents and eyewitnesses said Monday that a checkpoint of the Security Belt Forces on the road connecting the provinces of Lahj and al-Bayda, south and central Yemen, had been preventing northern citizens from crossing into the southern areas for the third day.
The security soldiers of the Alserr checkpoint, between al-Hadd area of the southern Lahj and al Zaher area in the central al Bayda, prevented the citizens from the northern provinces from crossing to the south. Eyewitnesses said to Almasdaronline.
They reported that a citizen, Abdul Wahab Hussein al-Homeikani, was seriously injured by fire of the soldiers at the checkpoint after trying to cross into Lahj.
According to local residents, the soldiers of the security checkpoint did not provide clear reasons for preventing the northern citizens from entering the southern regions.
